Food Waste Policy

As part of Bor Şeker’s commitment to an environmentally respectful and sustainable food safety management system—and with the awareness that food loss and food waste are integral elements that cannot be overlooked within this system—we commit to the following:

  • Reducing food loss that occurs within the supply chain (production, processing, storage, and distribution stages) before food reaches the consumer,
  • Minimizing food waste arising from products that are suitable for consumption but are deliberately discarded at the retail or consumer level,
  • Managing products donated to non-profit organizations, employees, and other institutions, and applying necessary controls to ensure these products are safe for consumption,
  • Managing surplus or by-products intended for animal feed/food in a way that prevents contamination,
  • Ensuring these processes are managed in compliance with applicable legislation, are regularly updated, and do not adversely affect food safety,
  • Providing training to our employees at least once a year to raise awareness about reducing food loss and waste,
  • Including the objective of reducing food loss and waste—outlined in the target tracking plan—as a topic in the annual management review meeting.
